Mockup ATLAS Social Media Cockpit

Social tuning for innovation competitions

The new version of PEACOQ has been optimized for a pan-European innovation competition, the ATLAS Open Call initiative. For the first time, we are integrating a social media cockpit and video content into our workflow tool. More effective solution generation and authentic public relations become possible.

Given how many there are, idea competitions face the growing challenge of activating not only enough participants but, above all, the right ones. To this end, huge sums are often spent on PR campaigns. Combined with the effort of participation, supporting participants and experts, and evaluation and decision-making processes, this raises the question of how effective the competition really is and how that effectiveness can be achieved.

Our answer to complex processes is the PEACOQ workflow tool

Originally created as a scouting-as-a-service tool for Deutsche Telekom Laboratories in 2007, our web-based platform PEACOQ has evolved continuously under the leadership of software developer Thomas Stark (managing director of cisLogic GmbH). In line with our partners’ requirements, we customize the workflow, range of features and user groups with their respective permissions. PEACOQ stands out for its modular design, which provides tool-based guidance toward the goal, depending on the foresight and ideation expertise available. Whether scenario development, horizon scanning, trend monitoring or expert-based evaluation processes – we have always created individual solutions for partners such as the BMW Group (2012), Audi AG (2017) and VDMA (2020).

Since May 12, 2020, the latest version of PEACOQ has been in use in the ATLAS Open Call “Agricultural Interoperability and Analysis System.”

Funded by the European Union (EU), the project generates innovative solutions for efficient, data-driven agriculture in Europe. In an outside-in format, technological impulses are transferred to suitable multipliers.

„The goal of ATLAS is to achieve a new level of interoperability of agricultural machines, sensors and data services and enable farmers to have full control over their data and decide which data is shared with whom in which place“

Through the pan-European open call, SMEs and startups in agricultural technology are invited to pitch new technologies to experts, develop them further and go through an evaluation process. Seven thematic campaigns will be carried out over a period of three years:

  1. Weed and Pest Control
  2. Irrigation
  3. Asset Tracking and Fleet Management
  4. Efficient and Transparent Nutrient Cycle Reporting
  5. Behavior Analysis and Management of Livestock
  6. Information Platform for Farmers
  7. Open Technology for innovative Agriculture

Along these topic areas, the aim is to highlight the most promising players and support them in building prototypes through a co-creation process.

Innovative solutions for efficient, data-driven agriculture in Europe

Interoperable data and farmers’ data sovereignty are intended to give the European Union (EU) a sustainable environment for innovative agriculture. Public funding of almost 13 million euros is available to ATLAS (according to CORDIS) for this purpose.

At Schaltzeit GmbH, we are fascinated by the pan-European collaboration in this project.

The Greek communications agency (ETAM), the Anwendungszentrum Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO), countless research institutions, companies and startups from a wide range of European countries, organized by Fraunhofer IAIS, are working together to create a space for exchange and effective collaboration – one that transcends borders and in which innovations can become reality.
We are delighted to have developed another, individually tailored version of our PEACOQ software as part of this project.

PEACOQ serves the ATLAS Open Call as a platform on which technological solution approaches are submitted, optimized and evaluated – enabling effective collaboration regardless of physical distance.

The newest PEACOQ feature in the collaboration with ATLAS is the integration of a social media cockpit into the workflow.

The connection between ATLAS and social media LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook supports the organization’s work as follows:

  • Participants get the opportunity to provide their own content for further distribution.
  • A central overview of participants’ social media channels is created for use and networking.
  • Analyses of the published content become possible.
  • Campaign planning can take place directly on the platform through dates and notes.
  • Targeted questions elicit meaningful quotes and introduce participants.
  • The channels’ terms and conditions provide legal certainty when distributing content.

With the opportunity to promote ideas, technologies, prototypes, and successes publicly, participants in the ATLAS Open Call connect with players and experts in their industry.

A network emerges in which innovation is pushed and talent becomes visible, helping the ATLAS Open Call achieve authentic PR. Particularly content-driven candidates are reached and can be inspired to join the search for future solutions.

An expanded communication tool: integrating video material into the workflow

This additional dimension in conveying technological solution approaches between participants and experts is intended to help communicate complex content more precisely. The feature also opens up a new way of introducing participants as well as an optimized evaluation method: ad hoc tasks – such as recording a short-notice video that illustrates the relevance of the proposed solution – make it possible to specifically identify participants’ responsiveness, organizational talent and, not least, their ability to act spontaneously.

Our mission

As a partner for innovation and questions about the future, we want to optimize the processes of generating ideas and, ultimately, solutions with concrete results in mind. Rather than fleeting prestige, players should be offered the chance to develop scientifically, realize plans and ultimately create innovation that enriches our community.

We are excited about the latest generation of PEACOQ and about further optimizing the software in the future. New requirements can also give rise to new solutions.
