Which narratives, worldviews and values are reflected in our ideas of technological development? In this interactive workshop, we use the method of causal layered analysis (CLA) to explore together the influence of hero stories and prominent figures in the tech industry. Do we share a fascination with lone geniuses, or do we think of stories of cooperative change? Which stories of the future would we like to tell?
What can you expect?
- Methodological input: Plato was already convinced that control over (children’s) stories amounts to control over thinking and acting – critical futures studies likewise assumes that myths, worldviews and cultural imprints shape our ideas of the future.
- Practical application: Together, we apply CLA, the method developed by Sohail Inayatullah, to make the influence of narratives and hero images on our tech visions visible.
- Networking in a relaxed atmosphere: Snacks, drinks and a space for diverse perspectives and creative ideas.
