June 1st marks the launch of the European Earth Monitoring Competition Copernicus Masters that will reward ideas and innovative solutions benefiting business and society based on-earth observation data. Entries will be accepted in nine categories from June 1st until September 15th 2013. Since its first run in 2011 (then previously known as GMES Masters) Schaltzeit is acting as IT partner of the competition by providing our self-developed Peacoq database. The Peacoq database Software has since then secured the process of the competition, enabling applicants from all over the world to enter their projects and business ideas in different categories. As part of the complex competition process, international experts will subsequently enter the database to evaluate the project ideas via various criteria to determine winners for each category. The competition which is organised by our good colleagues at the Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen is also supported by the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs and the European Commission. It holds EUR 350,000 in prizes ready for this year’s winners and, in addition to cash prizes, they will gain access to satellite imagery, start-up support and technical consulting.
Schaltzeit is very proud that our Peacoq database is again chosen to be main part of the contest’s infrastructure.
