Knowledge can be \u201cmined\u201d \u2013 in seconds and for mere cents. So it's no surprise that the member companies of the Advanced Foresight Group are increasingly seeing client requests like these.\n<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-82ebf4a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"82ebf4a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><li>\u201cCan you build us an AI agent workflow pilot? Going forward, we want to manage without foresight service providers, and we'd like to benchmark different solutions first.\u201d<\/li><li>\u201cCan you build us an instant radar? We've seen that you can do it!\u201d<\/li><li>\u201cEven the British minister is doing foresight himself these days. We want that too. Do you have copy-and-paste AI workflows for n8n or Gumloop that we can adopt?\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6fc9d10 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6fc9d10\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The answer, of course, is: yes, we can build that. But is that really enough?<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cutting spending on foresight is currently in vogue \u2013 a very dangerous tightrope walk for providers and organizations alike. In-house strategic foresight often fails to realize that it is clipping its own wings.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of strengthening their internal position, people build tools. Instead of gathering learning experiences in shared processes, they celebrate their own self-efficacy. I remember a project in which the mayor said he could paint images of the future himself. So he started drawing in MS Paint \u2013 much to the delight of his entourage. Let's not make the same mistakes! \u201cThe Emperor's New Clothes\u201d should teach us that the arrogance of thinking something is \u201cso easy\u201d leads nowhere.<\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just because new tools \u201cwould enable anyone\u201d doesn't mean the foresight processes are automatically of high quality. What's missing is workflow design and a corrective. What's missing is friction, participation, expert knowledge, and the careful design of images of the future.<\/p><p><strong>More and more often, you stumble across posts like this on LinkedIn:<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c87dae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c87dae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\u201cI built a blog-writing AI foresight workflow that runs in 33 seconds.<\/em><br \/><em>It takes a foresight topic I give it and:<\/em><br \/><em>\u2192 pulls research using Perplexity<\/em><br \/><em>\u2192 references my brand voice + writing style<\/em><br \/><em>\u2192 generates a full blog post with structure + citations<\/em><br \/><em>\u2192 sends it to me in Google Docs + Slack<\/em><br \/><em>This isn\u2019t just pasting a prompt into ChatGPT.<\/em><br \/><em>The workflow pulls from a custom brand doc \u2014 my tone, formatting preferences, and real writing samples \u2014 so the output actually sounds like me.<\/em><br \/><em>It doesn\u2019t just generate content.<\/em><br \/><em>It generates my content, automatically.<\/em><br \/><em>Built the whole thing in Gumloop \u2014 no code needed.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\ud83d\udc47 Comment \u201cWorkflow\u201d if you want the full tutorial on how I built this.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0b3124e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0b3124e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI agents will always produce knowledge and generate volume. But it is precisely this \u201cgenerated\u201d volume that clouds our view. It lures us in: \u201cDon't be stupid and do the work yourself when I can do it for you. I'm fast, cheap, and self-explanatory \u2013 just copy me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The long-term result: brainless organizations! Triggered by workflows, they drift along without a leader. Because foresight, ideation, communication, and strategic direction are inseparable. Not \u201cbrainless and dumb as fuck!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI-supported processes need clear quality standards so the team doesn't bask in cognitive offloading \u2013 without noticing that it is making itself more replaceable. You gain a competitive edge when you experiment. There's nothing wrong with setting up pilots. Foresight budgets should regularly challenge foresight service providers.
