As one of the world\u2019s most important international aviation trade shows, it offers the big (and small) players in the industry a platform to present their products, solutions, and programs. The European Space Agency <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESA<\/a> is also represented with its own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/About_Us\/Exhibitions\/Le_Bourget_2017\/ESA_at_the_Paris_Air_and_Space_Show_2017\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pavilion and many events and exhibitions<\/a> at the show.<\/p>\n<p>With the event <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/For_Media\/For_Media_Calendar\/Space_4.0_Our_future_up_and_start\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cSpace 4.0ur Future: Up and Start\u201d<\/a> on June 21, ESA is addressing the role of space as a driver of innovation. The event also looks at unconventional approaches and new business models, including through the involvement of startups. It showcases successful startups from the ESA incubator (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/Our_Activities\/Space_Engineering_Technology\/Business_Incubation\/ESA_Business_Incubation_Centres12\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESA BIC<\/a>) and marks the kickoff of the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/About_Us\/Business_with_ESA\/ESA_Grand_Challenge\/ESA_Grand_Challenge3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ESA Grand Challenge<\/a>. This initiative also includes two competitions held as part of the ESA-initiated <a href=\"https:\/\/login.space-exploration-masters.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Space Exploration Masters<\/a> \u2013 the ESA Space Solutions Prize and the ESA New Business Innovation Prize. The Space Exploration Masters are run by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anwendungszentrum.de\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen<\/a> using Schaltzeit\u2019s innovation platform for ideas competitions. Besides ESA, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spaceresources.lu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luxembourg<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astrosat.biz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Astrosat<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airbus.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Airbus<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emdgroup.com\/en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Merck<\/a> are among those hosting competitions on this platform. Submissions are possible from June 20 to September 8, 2017. Exciting new solutions are expected and will be supported with more than EUR 500,000.00 in prize money.
